FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions NexKit hears most often. For the technical detail behind any of these, see How NexKit Works and Choosing the Right Tool.

Is NexKit free to use?

The tools listed today are available without creating an account or installing software. NexKit doesn't promise that every future tool or feature will always be free — check each tool's own page for its current status.

Do I need to create an account?

No. None of NexKit's current tools require an account, sign-in, or payment to use.

Are my files uploaded to NexKit's servers?

For every tool currently labeled "Runs in your browser" — which, as of this writing, is every published PDF and Image tool — no, your file is processed locally in your browser tab. See How NexKit Works for the full explanation, including the one situation where that could differ for a specific future tool. Network Tools is a separate product line that works on addresses and hostnames rather than uploaded documents, and documents its own behaviour on its own site.

What happens if my browser tab crashes or I close it mid-process?

Because processing happens in your browser's own memory for local tools, closing the tab or losing power stops the operation, and nothing is saved automatically. You'll need to start over with your file — browser-local tools don't retain any state after the tab closes.

Does NexKit use my files to train AI models?

No tool sends your file content to an AI training pipeline. The two tools that use AI models — Remove Background and Upscale Image — run pre-trained models locally in your browser to process only the one file you give them, for that session. See How NexKit Works.

Is NexKit accessible with a keyboard or screen reader?

The site's navigation — including the Tools menu and language switcher — is keyboard-operable and uses ARIA labeling and semantic HTML. NexKit has not undergone a formal, independent accessibility audit, so this isn't a claim of full WCAG conformance. If you hit an accessibility barrier, please contact NexKit so it can be addressed.

What's the difference between nexkit.uk, All Tools, PDF & Image Tools, Network Tools, and Guides?

nexkit.uk (this site) is the brand entry point and doesn't run any tools itself. All Tools is the directory covering every NexKit product line. PDF & Image Tools is where the document, image, and file tools actually run. Network Tools is where the network diagnostics run. Guides has articles and how-tos about these workflows.

Are all planned tools and categories already available?

No — some categories and tools are still in development, and are clearly labeled "Coming soon" wherever they appear, rather than being listed as available. If something is marked that way, it isn't usable yet.
